Self-healing process of a microcrack into an aged bitumen by the action of biobased spore microcapsules. Research published in “Biobased spore microcapsules for asphalt self-healing, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2022 14 (27), 31296-31311”. This paper proposes the use of extremely resistant biobased spores for the encapsulation of recycled oil-based rejuvenators to produce more resilient self-healing asphalt pavements.
